Female Lead Vocal Audition Tracks
Keep in mind as you’re practicing and preparing for your audition that we are typically looking for team members to play (or sing) their part as close to the original as possible. However, it’s also important to know, that much of the time playing the original part is either not practical or not possible for various reasons.
For example there may be 4 or 5 guitar or keys parts in the track and we’re only one player, there may be a bass and a synth bass at the same time, there may be multiple drum kits or drum machines, some sections may be beyond our skill level, a part may work well in a recording but doesn’t feel right in the live setting.
These kinds of things come up in almost every set we play, and when they do we want to do our best to still play (or sing) the main hook or recognizable line from the song as close as we can so that it still sounds like the song and then fill in the sections that aren’t possible or practical with something that still feels like the song and fits well with what the rest of the instruments are playing and the vocals are singing. Listening to the other instruments and vocals is key to making sure that what you choose to play (or sing) fits well with the rest of the band.
The Vocal Audition Tracks include the original song, and an additional track with the vocals muted. Use the original Full Mix to learn the song. Then, you can use the track with the muted vocals to practice on your own and then audition with.
